Residential AV
We stock a wide range of audio visual equipment for hire, from higher tech kit such as videoconferencing systems, to low tech items such as staging and display boards.
Items are available on a dry hire basis, for you to collect & return, or can be delivered, setup & then collected again after the hire. For larger events we also provide a full event hire service, with setup on site & AV technicians on hand during the event to control all aspects of sound, lighting & PC presentations / video cue-in. A brief summary of some of the hire equipment available is as follows:
Projection Equipment Hire
For connection to your source device, whether a laptop computer, an iPad tablet, a DVD or Bluray player or other, we can advise on options and compatibility. You will want to ensure that the projector you hire is bright enough for the venue, at an appropriate resolution, with compatible inputs and cabling. You may want to hire other items with the projector, such as a screen, projector stand, long cabling runs, splitter boxes or distribution amplifiers or perhaps a scaler / switcher.
Also available are a range of projector stands & mounting equipment, including girder clamps & truss mount clamps.
Flatscreen Hire
Flatscreens available include plasma, LCD and LED in a variety of sizes up to 63". This includes 2 matching 42" ruggedised touchscreens. All screens are supplied with Unicol floorstands, and equipment shelves and accessories are available for these if needed. We can also supply digital signage systems to drive your flatscreen display in a more sophisticated way with multiple zones, scrolling RSS feeds and so on, although these systems are more typically used in a permanent installation.
As always, please check that the equipment booked has appropriate connectivity for your laptop or other source device, stating what level of audio is needed (small speaker up to full PA system). All our large screens (42" and up) are full HD resolution.
PA Hire: wired & wireless microphones
We have a variety of different sized PA systems to cater for events of all sizes. Please state the size of the venue & the number of expected guests when booking PA equipment. For events where there are multiple microphones or audio sources, it is recommended that you consider booking one of our AV technicians, to ensure that your event runs smoothly.
Radio Microphones: brands available include Sennheiser, Trantec, TOA & Audio Technica. Frequency ranges available include the new Channel 38 frequencies as well as Channel 69 / 70. These are available as lapel (aka 'tie clip) mics, handheld (aka 'roving' or 'Q&A') mics and also headset mics.
Speakers available include: JBL, Yamaha, Peavey & Electrovoice. Also: wireless JBL speaker sets.
Wired microphones and lectern mics from Audio Technica & Shure.
Lectern Hire
From basic lecterns, up to aesthetically pleasing units with your logo and lighting scheme integrated.
Display Boards / Poster Boards
We have recently invested in new stock of posterboards, with standard sizes being 2 metres high by 1 metre wide. Most of our boards are Royal Blue finish. We also have different sizes & some curved boards available. We will need to know room layouts and access routes for loading please for any posterboard enquiry to provide an accurate quote.
Video Camera Hire
Available with tripods and memory cards.
Video Conferencing System Hire
We have a Radvision / Avaya videoconferencing room system available. This can be connected to either 1 or 2 large flatscreen displays, which we can also supply. We recommend that you use our AV technicians to set up and test this for you. Please note: you must have a wired internet access for these VC setups: wireless will not work.
Lighting Rigs
Mood lighting, lighting for your top table or company colours as a wash onto your logo.
Staging / Podiums

Cabling & Switchgear
A range of cabling & switchgear is available for hire. Cable types include XLR speaker cable, HDMI cable, Multicore cables, DVI cable, phono / composite video cable, audio cabling, VGA, CAT5 cable & speaker cabling. Switchgear includes scaler / switchers from AMX & Kramer, CAT5 converter / deconverter systems from Kramer & DA's (Distribution Amplifiers).
Setup and onsite technical support, if required.

Are you organising an event, perhaps a business meeting, conference or an important presentation to a potential client? Or maybe you are making arrangements for a wedding or party? We have a great deal of experience in helping set up for events, and whether you need a projector and screen, a PA system - perhaps including a hearing induction loop - or any other audio visual / presentation system, we would be happy to discuss suitable options for your event.
Compatibility Issues
Not sure what equipment you need? We can advise or simply hire you a package of kit that we have tested for compatibility. For example, we can hire you a laptop PC with Window 7, Microsoft Office version 10 (including the latest version of PowerPoint) and a compatible projector with the cables you need to connect. We're happy to show you how to use the equipment. If you need a screen, projector stand or audio to go with it, we can advise and supply - and you'll be confident that it all works together!
To avoid compatibility issues and last minute pre-presentation panic, we would suggest that you consider the following suggestions. When a client is going to be connecting their laptop into a hire projector, the two key issues are the resolution of the laptop computer and the type of connector needed to cable out of this into the projector or flatscreen display device. The lowest resolution that you will find on current laptops now is XGA resolution (1,024 x 768 pixels). However this is no longer a standard, and you may find that you have a higher resolution at a 4:3 aspect ratio, or that you now have a widescreen laptop (typically an aspect ratio of 16:9). But don't panic! We have many years of experience of dealing with this kind of compatibility issue, so we suggest that you contact us and we can help you select the appropriate equipment from the outset. We also like to confirm the type of connection cables that we will require to connect your computer or other equipment to our display devices, and this can be the usual 15 pin sub 'D' connector, a DVI connector or in the case of Apple Macs can be a proprietary connection type. In all cases though, we prefer to get the hire equipment to you in advance of the hire date so that there is adequate time to double-check all of these issues.

Isis Audio Visuals have a range of projection equipment available for hire, including older style OHP's (overhead projectors) for showing acetates or transparencies on, and 35mm slide projectors. We also have more modern projection equipment for showing computer presentations, as well as video projectors & DVD projection systems (with separate sound systems if showing footage to larger audiences).
Computer Projectors
The standard native resolution of the projectors we hire out for this purpose is XGA or WXGA (or 'wide' XGA). Usually these are driven by the client's laptop computer, and the standard connector uses a 15 pin sub 'D' connector. If your computer uses a less standard format, such as DVI, please let us know in advance, so that we can supply the appropriate cables to connect your PC to the computer projector. If you are using an Apple Mac computer then you may well require the appropriate adapter for this. Also, if you are running a long cable to the projector or if your Mac has a graphics card with low output, then you may require a signal booster (also known as a D.A., short for distribution amplifier). This is available for hire at additional cost and will boost the signal strength, reducing problems such as image flicker or ghosting.
Other terms used for 'computer projector' include:
LitePro (this is usually associated with InFocus projectors) LCD Projector (an acronym for Liquid Crystal Display, a projector technology) Barco (another trade name, usually meaning the large 3-beam CRT projectors) DLP (a Texas Instruments technology) Beamer - purely a slang term!
OHP's
We have OHP's (Overhead Projectors) available in both folding portable formats, as well as larger, higher powered units. We still stock and supply OHP transparencies if these are required. If you need any transparencies, we will need to know the make and model of the printer you are using.
Slide Projectors
We have 35mm slide projectors with remote handsets, enabling slides to be advanced remotely by the presenter. If you are using a 35mm slide projector or OHP to project an image similar to a 'gobo' or to paint a mural with, why not get in contact and we can suggest the ideal package for your requirements.
Video Projectors and DVD Projectors
We have a range of projectors available, depending on your requirements and budget. To enable us to suggest an appropriate projector model, please let us know as much information as possible, including expected audience size, equipment you are connecting into and ambient light levels. Screens are available from £10 per day. Please note: if you need audio output, the built-in audio is quite limited on these projectors. Based on factors such as audience and room size, we can supply audio from £10 per day, or full PA systems (see above) to suit the size of room and the expected number of people in the audience.
PA Systems
Systems available include a small, portable system with easy setup. This PA system has two wireless handheld mics (roving mics). We have larger systems for bigger venues, with lapel radio microphones, handheld radio microphones and wired mics. Please call to discuss your requirements, and we will be happy to discuss which system would be best suited to your event.
Hire Terms & Conditions
If this is your first hire from Isis Audio Visuals, we will require payment on or before delivery of the equipment, along with proof of ID. Payment options include BACS, company cheque, debit card, credit card which adds a 2.5% surcharge, or cash). Normally we are then happy to do future business on a 30 day credit agreement.
If possible, we will endeavour to deliver the equipment to you prior to the event, enabling you to become comfortable with the operation of the equipment and eliminating any last minute delays. For example, if you required a projector or plasma for an event on a Tuesday, we would often deliver to you on Monday afternoon and collect on the Wednesday morning. You would normally only be charged for one day of hire in this case. If you required a projector or plasma display for a longer period for a dry run of the event however we would normally charge for the extra period at the standard rate.
Delivery charges and options
The cost of delivery / collection will vary depending on the distance and location and the period of notice given for the hire. We can therefore only quote you a delivery charge when we know the full details of the hire requirement. Alternatively you can collect the goods from us and arrange return.
